The philosophy of Urbica has always been the optimization of production methods and tools, drawing upon the benefits of IT for the creation, structuring, control and validation of geographical data bases, whether scanned, digitized, vectorized or modelled.

This approach has been in place since the very beginnings of Urbica in 1986: The Geographic Information System sector has been an area where the emergence of "personal" information technology, of the type which is familiar today, has proved to be most rewarding.
